SumoSprings Helper Springs Installation (Front) | Mercedes Sprinter Camper Van Conversion
The van conversion process added a considerable amount of weight to my 2018 Mercedes Sprinter and I noticed an increase in top roll (side to side rocking) when entering / exiting driveways. After researching and reading reviews, I was confident SumoSprings were the best option to solve my issue. SumoSprings act like an airbag that rests on top of the axle replacing the stock bump stop.
According to the installation instructions and what I read online, the installation was going to be simple (“Just bend and pop it in”). I found the SumoSprings were much harder than the stock bump stops and were tough to bend by hand to get it into place. After a failed attempt working underneath the vehicle trying to get it into place by hand, I found that removing the wheel and using a clamp to compress the hard rubber worked for me.
They did significantly cut down on the top roll.

The music is really bad, sorry. But i just cant go without seeing the toilet in the bathroom... for me personally, taking a dump outside in the nature is the best f*king thing ever ! And i will never build a toilet in my van EVER! 0 smell, 0 problems of cleaning, and very ecological. But a bathroom to shower after riding my bike or from other activies is welcomed! P.s: you are one great guy who pulled this build on his own! It would take me 365 days to do it, when i saw those wires and everything... crazy, so bravo from slovenia 🙏

I’m about to build a layout with a similar lengthways couch/bed in a Transit L2H2 (SWB) so have a bit less length to work with unfortunately. What are your bed dimensions out of curiosity? (Also your kitchen unit?) I’m trying to create a sloped backrest for comfort when sitting, but that reduces the bed width substantially. One concern that has been bothering me - do you have problems falling into the gap in the mattress?
